To keep everyone informed, when we learn of a Covid+ student or staff member, we use seating charts for each period to determine who may have been in close contact with the confirmed case. We will not tell you the name or identifying details of the confirmed case.
If your student is in the same lunch group, and the seating chart shows that your student sits within a 6’ radius of the case, you will receive a quarantine letter with instructions. Lunch is the only time inside the building that masks are not worn. Your primary points of contact are your Head of School and Campus Operations Manager.
If your student sits within 6’ of the case in other classes, your student is a close contact and you will receive a close contact letter. It is your choice whether you want to get your student tested. Per the CDC, StrongSchoolsNC and our Return to Campus Guide, students properly wearing well fitting masks when in close contact do not need to quarantine.
Finally, we will send a Community Wide notification letter to every family at the school when we have a confirmed case. This is informative, and no action needs to be taken.
