Alison McClain
Born and raised in small-town Oklahoma, Alison graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in secondary English education after completing her student teaching internship abroad on an Air Force base outside of London, England.
Degree in hand, she joined Teach For America and transplanted to the east coast to teach in a high needs school here in Charlotte. Once she completed her time in the corps, she took a job teaching on the other side of the world at Singapore American School. She's thrilled to join the founding team at Charlotte Lab Middle School as a sixth grade humanities teacher, working with students to continue growing their love of reading and learning through their middle school years.
When Alison isn't dreaming up new lessons for the classroom or reading the latest young adult books, she's probably loving on her new rescue puppy Sampson, FaceTiming her niece and nephews, or planning the travel details for her next weekend adventure.
