Kiera Parker

Kiera grew up as a bit of a nomad, moving between Georgia, Costa Rica, and Venezuela. She majored in Classics at Kenyon College before joining Teach for America in 2013. As a corp member, she taught Spanish at Harding University High School for four years.

Although she loved designing lessons and building students' cultural capacity, Kiera knew that she wanted to expand her impact in education. She earned her Masters in Educational Leadership at Winthrop University in 2018. She transitioned into the world of middle school as the Dean of Students at McClintock Middle School.

After five years in that role, Kiera joins the Charlotte Lab community as the new Head of Middle Grades. She is excited to bring her background in language acquisition, social-emotional programming, and academic coaching to Lab.

Outside of school, you can find Kiera and her husband, Cade, visiting local trails with their dogs, exploring new restaurants, and drinking far too much coffee.
