After 15 years within Architecture and Management Consulting, Brett left corporate America to pursue her passions for wellness and the creative arts. In 2009 she founded Sheer Balance - a multi-media company dedicated to helping individuals live happier, healthier lifestyles. Beneath this brand Brett became International bestselling author of the 52 Small Changes series, which includes: 52 Small Changes for the Family (2019), 52 Small Changes for the Mind (2015) and 52 Small Changes: One Year to a Happier, Healthier You (2012). Brett has written for Huffington Post and Yahoo!, and has been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Glamour, Guess, Spa Magazine and Organic Spa Magazine. Brett appears on Charlotte Today on WCNC, and was a regular contributor on Better Connecticut (WFSB - CBS, Hartford CT) and MyFox - 25 in Boston.

After having her son in 2013, Brett launched an art business – Tiny Toes Design by Brett Blumenthal – which specializes in wildlife and animal portraiture, painting, and illustration. She grew Tiny Toes into a global art business within 2 years and now sells her art globally across many online channels, Pottery Barn Kids, Land of Nod, Wayfair and other retail outlets. Passionate about the environment and wildlife, Brett uses her art to raise awareness about preserving our planet and the importance of biodiversity. She has committed to donating a minimum of 10% of proceeds to wildlife and environmental conservation, and animal welfare efforts.

Brett also sits on the board of Stand for Animals Veterinary Clinic, whose mission is to make high quality spay, neuter, and veterinary care affordable and accessible to all pet owners. She is also an active singer with the Charlotte Symphony Chorus. Brett received both her Bachelors of Architecture and MBA from Cornell University. Brett and her family (husband, son, and two fur babies) have lived in Charlotte since 2015.
