It is hard to believe that this is the last week of our second trimester, and we are two-thirds of the way through the year. As we prepare for the final trimester, please take some time to review what is coming up in the next few months. We need your help to finish the year as strongly as we began.
PROGRESS REPORTS & CONFERENCES Progress Reports will be sent home on Friday, March 9, and advisory conferences will take place the following week. As a reminder, 5th & 6th graders will be leading their advisory conferences, and parents of these students will receive additional information soon. Parents of K-4th graders will participate in advisory conferences, and we highly recommend that all parents attend these important meetings. Due to the decrease in attendance at last trimester's Walk-In Conference Night, we will not have one this trimester. If after your advisory conference you still have questions about your child's progress, please reach out to the subject-area teacher for a short phone or in-person conference. LAB INNOVATION FUND Looking for another reason to give to this year's Annual Fund? One of the things we are raising money for this year is additional soundproofing in our Lower School math/quest & lunch space. If we reach $200,000 in donations by March 15 (We are currently at $160,000.) we will be on track with our fundraising and that will enable us to give the nod to our soundproofing specialists, Warco. With any luck, we will get the work done over spring break! So, if you have not already made a gift to this year's Lab Innovation Fund, please do so today! You can give online here. Or, download and return our gift form. And don't forget to check your child's green folder for more information about making a donation and our #WhyLab initiative. We look forward to hearing your #WhyLab story in the coming months. As always, if you have any questions, please contact Susannah Lund. VOLUNTEERING We are so thankful for our many, many volunteers who have contributed to the success of Lab and our growing community. It is not an overstatement to say that we would not be as far along as we are today without each and every person who has invested his/her time in our school. While we often talk about how your volunteering benefits the school, today we want to focus on what's in it for YOU! Here are a few of the personal benefits of volunteering. By choosing to volunteer, you will be:
INTENT TO RETURN If you have not already done so, please complete your Intent to Return Form here, or fill out the hard copy that was sent home in your child's green folder. If you are unsure whether your child will be returning to Lab, please indicate MAYBE on the form along with an approximate date that you will make your decision. We appreciate your honest feedback on this form no later than March 1, and all information will be kept confidential by the school. If anything changes after submitting your form, please contact the Admissions Office. Thank you! Sincerely, Mary Moss Brown |
