Meg Scott
Head of Primary School

Meg attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she graduated with a dual degree in History and Peace, War, & Defense.
She began her teaching career in rural Louisiana where she taught 2nd grade. Next she joined the staff of Teach For America where she managed the teacher leadership and development team that supported teachers PK – 12th grade in all subjects. Originally from Charlotte, she returned to North Carolina in 2010. She completed her administrative certification through New Leaders for New Schools and its partnership with. Beginning in 2012, Meg spent two years as a principal in CMS, followed by a year at KIPP Charlotte as the Literacy Coach. She is proud to have joined the Charlotte Lab School Community in its founding school year of 2015-2016. After teaching ELA in grades first through fourth, she became the Assistant Head of the Lower School in 2017. She looks forward to helping the Charlotte Lab community grow throughout the city of Charlotte in the years to come.
When she is not teaching, Meg enjoys trying new recipes, watching sports, finding new adventures, starting projects on her house, and playing with her dog, Jackson.
