ALL students who attend charlotte lab 1st-12th are exposed to chess. With 1st-4th taking chess once a week as a class and middle school and high school taking it for a semester.
Middle School Chess Championship May 30th!
For the second year in a row Charlotte Lab is hosting the PAC Championship. This is the Middle school championship for chess in our sports conference. Last year Charlotte Lab came in 2nd place behind ACE academy and this year we are looking to win first place. Students who are in grades 3-8th Grade are eligible to participate in this event. There will be a cap of around 15 players for this event. You must send Mr Myers an email if you are interested in joining this event.

CHESSKID Teacher work day Tournaments 2nd-6th grade eligible.
During teacher workdays or school holidays students will be able to join chess tournaments on the chesskid platform. To join a tournament on chesskid all you have to do is
1. Login to chesskid
2. Click on play vs kid and on the right hand side you should be able to see the tournaments I have added for this week.
3.Students should be able to join the tournaments starting at 10am and 12pm please register early so that you can have time to navigate the website.
High School Chess League
Students in high school have a chess tournament that takes place June 06th. We have a strong group of students who are strong enough to compete this year. If you are interest here is a sign up link https://www.charlottechesscenter.org/events/highschool

1st place Spring City Championship
In the fall Charlotte Lab received first place for the City Championship and we were able to get a clean sweep by tying for first place in the spring edition also. Congratulations to the 3rd-5th team for their performance.
