Dual Enrollment
- If you are currently in 11th/12th grade (minimum 2.8 GPA) that plans to pursue dual enrollment opportunities at CPCC and have not completed the enrollment and registration process for the Fall 2024 semester, please reach out to the Upper School counselor.
Pre-College Programs
- You can now access information about the Governor’s School summer residential program. The application window will open soon!
- QuestBridge’s National College Match for students from low-income backgrounds closes September 26.
- Middle School students can prepare to attend Health Careers Day on “The Hill” at UNC-Chapel Hill. Fall registration dates will be released soon.
College Application Resources
- All Financial Aid Resources will be added to this Scholarship/Grant Updates 24-25 spreadsheet weekly.
- CommonApp opened applications for the 2024-25 school year on August 1.
- Common Black College Application for the 2024-25 school year are open. You only have to pay $20 to apply to 67 HBCUs.
- NC DPI and the UNC system are launching NC College Connect in September to allow students to set up a profile to receive consideration from partner schools. Details TBA.
Testing Resources
- September 20 is the regular deadline to sign up for the ACT on October 26 and the SAT on October 5. If you believe you qualify for a test waiver, please discuss with the Upper School counselor or testing coordinator.
- CLS is offering PrepScholar for ACT and SAT prep. All 10th and 11th grade students will receive access!
Upcoming College + Career Events
- Colleges will begin visiting Charlotte Lab School in October! Students can use Naviance to sign up for the visit(s):
- Davidson College
- Queens University
- North Carolina A & T
- Kent State University
- September 17 at 10:00am - Financial Aid Workshop for college-bound Juniors and Seniors. Students should sign up if they plan to attend.
- October 30th - Evening virtual financial Aid Workshop for parents. Details TBA.
- We want to host a Spring College + Career Fair with the CLS community’s help! If you are able to represent your job in this type of setting, look out for more details in the coming weeks.
