Meet the Teacher Night

Dear Lab Families:

Lab is excited to host Meet the Teacher on Monday, August 24. Attend during these open house times:

5:30-6:30pm (suggested time for student last names A-M)

6:30-7:30pm  (suggested time for student last names N-Z).

We are thrilled to see our students and families and start an amazing school year!

Event Purpose:

Meet the Teacher Night gives you + your student a chance to introduce yourself to teachers, see your child’s pod and learning spaces, and get a first look at what the year ahead has in store. You'll learn about classroom routines, expectations, and how you can support your child's learning from day one. Most importantly, it helps your child start the year feeling more confident! During the quick check-in with your child's teachers, please say hello, locate where your child should place their materials on the first day, note how your child is getting to and from school, and exchange contact information.

Event Logistics:

Date: Monday, August 24: Meet the Teacher

Time: Attend one of two times: 5:30-6:30 (last names A-M) OR 6:30-7:30 (last names N-Z). We split this by last name to manage the flow of people through the building; please follow if you are able, but families are welcome to join either time.  Note: School doors will open at 5:30 sharp - if you arrive early, please wait on the lawn or in your vehicle.

Parking: Parking is available in our main lot, student lot, street parking (check signs for parking rules), and in the Mecklenburg County building next-door (after 5:30pm).

Know Before You Go:

All Lab students + parents/guardians are welcome! Please be sure to supervise your children while they are here. For safety, children should not explore the building without supervision.

If you purchased supplies on your own, please drop them off at this event. Supply kits that were ordered through EPI by the early deadline will be available at school.

Visit tables with many of our departments including School Operations, Student Life and partners like the PTSO, Spirit Wear, After School and more.

This event is meant to be a brief introduction; with so many families coming through, we won't have time for in-depth discussions about individual student progress, concerns, etc. - please schedule a phone call or conference if you have something specific to discuss.

We are excited to serve you and your child this year!
