Laura Soto

Hello! I’m Laura Soto, an IB MYP–certified Spanish teacher at Charlotte Lab School. I’m originally from Mexico and have lived in the United States with my family for eight years. I hold two master’s degrees—Teaching Spanish as a Second Language and Neurodidactics & Learning Difficulties—and bring 13 years of experience teaching Grades 4–9 in the U.S. (and previously teaching English and Science, Grades 1–6, in Mexico). I’ve helped design the Spanish curriculum for Socrates Academy (Grades 5–8) and Union Day School (Grades 6–8). Outside the classroom, I love spending time with my family, watching movies, and meditating; I’m a proud wife and mom to two daughters, Dani and Arantxa.
