Libia Velazquez
Born in Mexico, I have always had a love for language, culture, and connecting with others. With 24 years of experience as an educator, I feel very fortunate to continue doing what I love. This is my second year at LAB, and I am so happy to be teaching Spanish to our second graders!
I recently completed my Master’s of Education in Innovation at Elon University and was honored to be inducted into Phi Kappa Phi. Outside of school, I am married and a proud mom of two boys, currently in 5th and 9th grade.
I believe learning a language should be joyful and full of discovery. This year, I look forward to taking my students on a journey around the world exploring languages, cultures, traditions, and new perspectives, all without leaving our classroom!
