Shaunte Edmonds Alford

Originally from the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area, I am excited to be making Charlotte my new home and putting down both personal and professional roots in this incredible community.

 

I earned my master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, and have spent more than 20 years working in PreK–12 public and public charter schools. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about building strong relationships, creating joyful and inclusive school communities, and ensuring every student and adult has the opportunity to thrive. I am honored to join Charlotte Lab School as the new Head of School and look forward to learning alongside students, partnering with families, and supporting our talented faculty and staff.

 

When I'm not at school, you'll likely find me outdoors, spending time with my family, friends, and my dog, or cheering on my favorite teams at a live sporting event or enjoying a great concert.

 

I can't wait to get to know the Charlotte Lab community, build lasting relationships, and continue the school's tradition of innovation, curiosity, and student-centered learning. I'm excited for all that we'll accomplish together!
