In early October, a group of high school students participated in a UN Delegates Quest where they studied the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the progress being made towards them.
After learning about countries around the world and the challenges they face in regards to the development goals, steudents then took those lessons and applied them to our community at Lab and in the city of Charlotte. Through their research, they wrote delegate speeches that laid out the goal, the challenges related to it in Charlotte, and their vision for the solutions needed to achieve by 2030. Students presented their speeches at a school-wide assembly with peers and adults and had a call to action for everyone in the room. It was a great showcase of civic engagement and critical thinking!
