Life at Lab

At Charlotte Lab School, challenge-based learning occurs through classes called “Quest”, which are interdisciplinary courses developed around real-world challenges. Quests are designed to develop students' understanding of big ideas and broad global concepts, and their development and application of 21st century skills.

On an evening in March, Lab hosted an exciting Staff vs. Students basketball game, bringing the Lab community together for some friendly competition. The gym was buzzing with energy as both teams, equally determined to win, prepared for the match.

Charlotte Lab School Winter Arts Night was a success, showcasing the creativity and skills of our student artists.

Our fall sports teams competed in conference tournaments in cross country, volleyball, and soccer!

Lab High School Earth + ES students hosted a science exhibition for our middle grades in our atrium.

Lab had nine (9) raised garden beds installed for our students to use in Quest and science classes.

Lab took 60+ students to a local college fair with over 100 colleges/ universities present and an upcoming trade/vocational fair with many trades represented.

Hundreds of students, adults, and community members joined Lab for our first-ever Trunk or Treat event!

Our K4 Chess Team competed in a tournament and both teams placed in the Top 10 and took home trophies.
