Attendance Procedures for Families

Tardy sign in

Our school doors open at 7:45 AM.  All students should be seated in class at 8:15 AM, ready for attendance to be taken in all grade levels. If your students arrive after 8:15 AM, please ask them to sign in at the front lobby. Signing in changes a student’s  attendance from Absent to Tardy, so please sign in! Students in grades K-4, will need a parent to walk them to the lobby and sign them in.

Report or Excuse an Absence

If your student is absent from school, please use our form to Report an Absence. This will take you to a form where you will be able to upload any medical/dental notes and excuse absences.  If you have questions about absences that were reported, but remain unexcused in PowerSchool, please refer to the NC Student Attendance Manual. Please note: Educational Enhancement Opportunity forms must be submitted at least 5 days prior to the absence and require approval. Days not approved will be coded as unexcused absences.

Student Pass for Early Dismissal (Grades 5-12)

We have an option for parents/guardians with students in Middle and Upper School (5th-12th) to fill out a form for Early Dismissal that will allow their student to leave class, sign themselves out, and meet their ride outside. This form must be filled out by a parent/guardian before 8:15 AM on the day of the early dismissal. The student can then go to the front office upon arrival and retrieve a pass that will let them leave class and sign out at the designated time. Early Dismissals end at 2:15 PM, even with a form.
